Design and Technology
At Turners Hill we value and encourage creativity in a wide range of ways. Design and Technology is part of every child’s immediate life experience. The subject encourages children to become creative problem-solvers, both as individuals and as part of a team. It enables them to identify the needs and opportunities and to respond by developing ideas and eventually making a range of products. Throughout the study of Design and Technology, they combine practical skills with an understanding of aesthetic, social and environmental issues, as well as the products function whilst looking at a diverse range of designers. This allows the children to reflect, evaluate and design technology. Currently, Design and Technology is planned by a specialist teacher to give the children exciting new experiences and skills.
