Welcome to Turners Hill.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child to Turners Hill Church of England Primary School and Turners Hill Tots Pre-school. We are a small, friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school with any queries you may have. Our school is a successful primary school located near East Grinstead, West Sussex. All of our children are encouraged to aim for excellence and to fulfil their individual potential – academically, socially, spiritually and personally.

OFSTED visited us in March 2016 and rated our school and pre-school as OUTSTANDING in all areas. We were particularly delighted when they said:
‘The school is a happy, welcoming and harmonious place, committed to the success of all its pupils…Pupils love coming to school and learning.’ Ofsted, March 2016.

A copy of our full OFSTED report is available and located in the main menu. At Turners Hill we strongly believe that children deserve to experience childhood and all the magic and wonder it brings.

‘Senior leaders and governors have a clear vision for the school that promotes the achievement of every pupil within a caring community, based on Christian values.’ Ofsted, March 2016.

We strive to offer our children ‘A World of Opportunities’ through a well-planned, broad and balanced curriculum. We hope you enjoy looking at our website and warmly welcome visitors to the school.

The school operates an ‘open door’ policy where parents are welcome to come into school to discuss their child’s progress at any time.

To encourage children’s self esteem, to develop a love of learning and acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to equip them for life.
To help pupils develop their own values and beliefs, and yet respect the religious, cultural and moral values of others, whilst providing them with an education based on Christian principles.
To foster thought and care for others in a community that creates a safe and healthy environment within which the children become happy and confident.
To provide an inclusive environment where each child is valued.
To promote high standards of behaviour, where children are encouraged to be sensitive to each others’ needs.
To help pupils to develop lively, enquiring minds, the ability to question, reflect and argue rationally and to acquire the skills relevant to our changing world.

We pride ourselves on being able to provide an education which gives ‘quality’ in all aspects of life so that our children can achieve. We believe very much in the child’s individual needs and strive to cater for these.
