Welcome to Turners Hill
I would like to extend a warm welcome to you and your child to Turners Hill Church of England Primary School and Little Oaks Pre-school. We are a small, friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school with any queries you may have. Our school is a successful primary school located near East Grinstead, West Sussex. All of our children are encouraged to aim for excellence and to fulfil their individual potential – academically, socially, spiritually and personally.
We were particularly delighted when they said:
‘The school is a happy, welcoming and harmonious place, committed to the success of all its pupils…Pupils love coming to school and learning.’ Ofsted, March 2016.
A copy of our full OFSTED report is available and located in the main menu. At Turners Hill we strongly believe that children deserve to experience childhood and all the magic and wonder it brings.
‘Senior leaders and governors have a clear vision for the school that promotes the achievement of every pupil within a caring community, based on Christian values.’ Ofsted, March 2016.
We strive to offer our children ‘A World of Opportunities’ through a well-planned, broad and balanced curriculum. We hope you enjoy looking at our website and warmly welcome visitors to the school.
Ethos and Values
“The school is a happy, welcoming and harmonious place, committed to the success of all its pupils …… Pupils love coming to school and learning.” Ofsted 2016
The school operates an ‘open door’ policy where parents are welcome to come into school to discuss their child’s progress at any time.
We are a friendly and fun primary school in which children thrive because they enjoy school and feel happy, safe and valued.
The needs of every child are always our prime consideration.
‘Pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural understanding is developed very well through the rich and balanced curriculum.’ Ofsted, March 2016
We pride ourselves on being able to provide an education which gives ‘quality’ in all aspects of life so that our children can achieve. We believe very much in the child’s individual needs and strive to cater for these. We believe in a cross curricular approach to learning which ensures that all aspects of the National Curriculum can be covered.
