Friends Of TurnersHill.
FOTHS (friends of Turners Hill School) is a small fundraising group working together to raise much needed funds for the school in order to enhance our children's educational environment and to support the school in any way we can.
As a small group of volunteers made up of parents and grandparents, we hold a few events throughout the year, the main ones being our Christmas Fair, Easter Event and Summer Fair. By holding these events last year we managed to raise an amazing £6127.00 all of which has gone back into the school and of which our children are seeing the benefits.
This years money has gone towards redeveloping the educational areas in and around Maple class with additional chalkboards and other educational aids and equipment. Outside we enhanced the learning areas to include a wooden kitchen for role play along with a shop stall and wooden Castle. We have also been able to purchase a story telling chair, that both the staff and children are delighted with.
The money raised has also gone towards additional IT equipment and the future installation of audio visual equipment within the main hall.
We don’t want to stop there FOTHS are keen to look at other ways we can help in developing other areas and classes within the school. With this in mind we are looking at developing the outside learning space surrounding Cherry class as our next project. Our next event is our Christmas Fair, being held on Friday 11th December.
If you would like to get involved or have any fundraising ideas we would love to hear from you! For further information on FOTHS please see the school office or alternatively please see Hayley Saunders or Lisa Hepburn in the school playground.
